A Sex Education TV Show?! How cool is that!

We’re all here for sexual and reproductive health awareness but here’s a fun twist. Here’s a crowd-favorite Netflix TV show that teaches sex education in adolescents with a mix of humor and highlights actual character perspectives, entitled “Sex Education” (indeed, the title says it all).

Sex Education is a British comedy-drama streaming television series created by Laurie Nunn for Netflix. The show highlights a teenage boy with a sex therapist mother that teams up with a high school classmate to set up an underground sex therapy clinic at school. The series follows the lives of the students, staff and parents of the fictional Moordale Secondary School as they contend with various personal dilemmas, often related to sexual intimacy.

AMAZE: Watch and learn!

AMAZE is a sex education video series for children ages 10 to 14. It intends to provide lessons that can be awkward and uncomfortable in the best-case situation with a more modern, kid-friendly face. AMAZE, which launched in September 2017, covers both traditional and progressive issues such as puberty and masturbation. Videos created by AMAZE can also be streamed from their YouTube.

For example, the video Porn: Fact or Fiction, helps kids understand that pornography often presents misleading and unrealistic images of people’s bodies, objectifies women and divorces sex from intimacy. However, it also reassures kids that being curious about porn is normal. Other videos define “consent,” and discuss about gender identities, including transgender and gender-fluid.
